Derrick Doty
Our young friend, Derrick, owns and operates the Barber Shop in Council Grove, Kansas.
Derrick is one very fine musician, and is mightily involved in nearly everything music that occurs in Cottonwood Falls.
At Prairie PastTimes, Derrick is our antique music instrument dealer. That.....and he keeps the piano in tune, and conducts the orchestra for the four "Grand Balls" held in the Music Hall space in the center of the shop, and generally, makes happy music in the building! This photo shows Derrick conducting the "Gary Hughes Memorial Fiddle Workshop" at the 2010 Flint Hills FolkLife Festival.
